Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 September 2026
Protein One is built so that your food log never leaves your phone. The app has no servers, no accounts and no sign-up. This policy describes exactly what the app does and does not do.
Your food log
Everything you record — protein entries, optional calories, body weight, your daily goal and streaks — is stored locally on your device. Protein One has no servers, and there is no server-side copy of anything. Deleting an entry in the app, or deleting the app, removes the data.
Food database and searches
The food database ships inside the app and lives on your phone. Searches, barcode lookups and everything you type stay on the device — the app makes no network request to answer them.
Camera and barcodes
The camera is used only to scan food barcodes, live. No photo or video is ever captured or stored. A scanned barcode number is saved only on your phone, so the next scan of the same product is one tap. You can use the whole app without ever granting camera access.
Apple Health (optional)
If you turn on saving to Apple Health, the app writes your protein (and, if enabled, calories and weight) to Health. This is write-only: Protein One never reads anything from Health. You can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings > Health.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to tell the app whether a subscription is active. For this, RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier generated on your device and the receipt information Apple provides — not your food log, your weight or anything you typed.
Analytics and tracking
Protein One contains no third-party analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking. We see only the aggregate, anonymised statistics Apple provides to all developers through App Store Connect. We do not build a profile of you and we do not sell or share data with data brokers.
Notifications
The daily reminder is a local notification scheduled on your device. It involves no server and can be turned off in the app or in iOS Settings at any time.
Children
Protein One is a general-audience nutrition tool and is not directed at children under 13. Because there are no accounts and nothing leaves the device, the app collects no personal information from anyone — including children.
Your rights
Everything the app knows about you is on your device: delete entries in the app, or delete the app to remove all of it. If you have any question or request about your data, write to us at the address below and we will respond promptly.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Protein One changes what is stored or where, we will update this page and state the new date above.
